DIP and DARAN were childhood friends.
In Australia, they had the idea to start a band.

During a study exchange, DIP teamed up with his childhood friend DARAN to start a hip-hop band. That was where the idea for SAMO began.
GUTO, DARAN, DIP and GAB formed SAMO in 2018. Each brought their own background: GUTO’s Brazilian popular music, GAB’s rap and DIP’s experience in music and visual arts.
In SAMO, DIP sings, writes songs and works on scripts, videos, design and merch.
PEDRO VOYAGE joined as a keyboardist, later taking on bass, songwriting and music production. Alongside singing and writing, GAB handles the commercial production of the shows.
SAMO’s journey includes a collaboration with rapper De Leve and performances at RTMO Festival, TUM Festival and Seas Festival.
Born in Joinville, PEDRO VOYAGE began studying bass at 11. He played in classic rock and indie bands before joining SAMO as a keyboardist. He later moved to bass and became involved in the group’s songwriting and music production.
Brazilian popular music is one of the influences of Joinville-born GUTO. In 2018, he released the acoustic EP “Músicas pra um fim de tarde”, with songs inspired by his time in Coimbra and his return to Brazil. That same year, he helped form SAMO.
DIP got his first drum kit at eight and began performing with bands at 14. His background also includes painting, graffiti and design. In SAMO, he sings, writes songs and develops the project’s visual side, from scripts and videos to merch.
GAB was born in Florianópolis to a musician and a dancer. He started in his school’s marching band, then moved into jam sessions and rap. He formed a group in 2015 before developing his solo work. In SAMO, he sings, writes songs and also handles the commercial production of the shows.
PIPE started playing cavaquinho at ten, then moved to guitar, studying jazz and Brazilian popular music. In 2021, he opened his studio in Florianópolis and composed and produced “Desculpa o exagero” by Thalita Meneghim. In 2022, he toured with Diogo Defante. At PIPE’STUDIO, he produces and directs music for original artists from southern Brazil.
